"I can’t relate," I said.
"That’s because you haven’t had me in far too long, John," Nicole said. She stuck out her tongue and disappeared around the corner.
I was antsy now. I went out back and approached Crystal.
"Hey, babe," she said as I walked up to her lounge chair.
"Your tan looks phenomenal," I said.
"Do you like it?" she asked, sitting up. She was, as always, chewing gum.
"It’s superb," I said. "Did Jess tell you I was coming?"
"Yeah," Crystal said. "She said it’s training day. What does that mean?"
"Do you want to guess?" I asked.
"I have no clue," Crystal said. "Is it time for me to come inside?"
"Yeah, let’s get you a towel," I said.
"I don’t need one," Crystal said.
