I was about to walk away when Katie grabbed my arm just firmly enough to make me stop.

"John," she said quietly. "I think about you. Like when I’m with guys. Even Jamie. I close my eyes and think about what you feel like inside me."

"I’m flattered," I said with a smile.

"Well, I’m kind of having a hard time remembering," she said with a slight grin. "I really could use a refresher."

"Let me go talk to Kat," I repeated with intent.

Katie walked over to join Alix and Jason with the cocaine. Petey and Crystal had joined them, but Kat stood with Jamie and flirted with him. She caught my eye and anticipated that I wanted to talk. She left his side, allowing her hand to linger on his forearm just longer than necessary. We met in the kitchen, where we bumped into Jess and Rita.

"Well, this is going smashingly well," I said.
