If that weren’t enough, the driver who had t-boned Jamie’s Bentley was drunk and a four-time DWI offender. So we had a certain degree of optimism that the legal issues would resolve favorably.
The biggest obstacle, however, was just helping Katie get around. A broken ankle and broken wrist were a difficult combination of injuries in any circumstance. But having a broken right wrist and broken left ankle made getting around beyond awkward. It was damn near impossible.
