Third-Person POV

Lance knew Isaac wouldn’t kill him in front of Alayana so he asked his assistant to inform Alayana. His plan worked but he didn’t expect Alayana to run up to him and protect him. He looked at her tears and felt as if his heart was bleeding.

“Nova.” he called her weakly and touched her hand.

“I am sorry Lance. It was all my fault.” she wept, catching his hand and asking for forgiveness.

If Lance were to hate her, she would understand his anger and leave him. But she doesn’t want to leave him when he is injured. She wants to help him recover and then leave if he doesn’t want her to see again. She can understand his pain. It’s not easy to be with the enemy’s woman and not remember his father.

“It’s not your fault. Don’t cry.” he moved a little despite his aching bones and tried to wipe her tears. She is pretty even when she is crying. Her skin was so smooth when he touched her cheeks to wipe her tears.
