Chapter 89. The Stone Crest

Madeline POV

“Yes, come in.” Madeline said absentmindedly as she knotted her hair into braids before her bedside mirror.

The door creaked open, and as she swiveled around to face the intruder, her mouth dropped open in surprise. It was the guard she usually slept with.

“What the hell are you doing here?” Madeline roared, watching him gently close the door behind him before turning to face her, a mischievous grin on his face.

He was expecting her to return his smile, but she didn’t. Instead, Madeline’s lips curled up in disgust as she stared at him.

He irritated her so much that if it hadn’t been for the fact that she was using him, and he was also proving to be quite helpful, she would have dumped his silly ass since or made up a nasty lie that would have gotten him fired from the mansion.

“What are you doing here?” She asked again, staring him down, but he said nothing and extended a small sack bag to her.
