Logan’s POV
“Timing is everything,” I emphasized, my voice firm as I pointed to a note on the table. “We stick to the plan, no deviations.”
The men nodded in agreement, their focus was unwavering, but out of the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of Dani even when he was seated a few chairs to my right, leaned back in his chair with his usual air of nonchalance.
He exhaled a stream of smoke from his cigarette, the faint scent of tobacco lingering in the air. In his hand, he idly twirled a small knife, the blade glinting under the light.
His expression was neutral, but the way he handled that knife…calm, calculated…told me he was bored out of his mind.
I ignored it, focusing instead on the topic at hand. But then my phone buzzed against the table, the vibration breaking the flow of the discussion. I glanced at the screen…an unknown number. I frowned but didn’t pick
