Chapter 576

Jason’s POV

There it was again. That word. Trust. It echoed in my mind, a reminder of just how much she had given me. 

And with it came a pang of guilt, one that I quickly pushed aside. She didn’t need to know the truth. Not now. Not ever.

I stood up, walking over to her and placing a hand on her shoulder. 

“You don’t have to worry about anything, Layla. I’ll always be here for you.”

She looked up at me, her expression full of gratitude and something else I couldn’t quite place. 

“I know,” she said softly. “And that means more to me than you’ll ever know.”

As I looked into her eyes, I couldn’t help but think about how much I wanted this to last. How much I wanted her to keep trusting me, to keep looking at me the way she was now. 

If she never regained her memories, if she never remembered Logan or the life she had before, then maybe we could have a chance. Maybe we could build som
