Logan’s POV
I checked the gun, made sure it was loaded, then attached the silencer, my hands steady, my mind sharp, my focus absolute.
I was ready.
I moved to the door, my footsteps silent, my body pressed against the wall as I listened, as I assessed, as I calculated. The noises were louder now…fighting, struggling, yelling.
My men were holding their ground, but they were outnumbered. I could hear it in their voices, in their movements, in the way the intruders fought back, relentless and brutal.
My spy had warned me about this, had informed me that my enemies were watching, waiting, plotting. I knew this would happen. I knew they would come. I just didn’t think it would be tonight.
I had been too distracted. Too careless. Too consumed with Layla.
