"Penny does not come from a wealthy background. If she divorces Tom and still manages to get her settlements, it just would not be enough. Once you have gotten used to this lifestyle, you can’t go back to how you used to be.”

I nodded. If I was Penny, I knew my decision would have been different. There would not be a million chances; once would be enough for me to pack and leave.

“Well, I can’t say good things about Mike either. I caught him cheating on me once, but it was just once, and I know it never happened after that,” she said, and I placed my hand over hers.

It was like she was trying to feed herself some horse shit because I had caught her “so-called” boyfriend stealing glances at me more than once.

“You are really lucky compared to us, Layla. Logan is a nice man. He is polite and such a gentleman.”

“He is a little different, isn’t he?” I asked her, trying to dig for some juicy inside story.
