"I mean, I know you, Logan. I know what you’re capable of. And when I saw those pictures, when I saw her dead like that… I panicked. Because I…I thought maybe you had done it. Maybe someone was trying to frame you or send you a message."

I finally looked back at him, watching the way his expression hardened, his mind working through my words.

I could see the doubt beginning to form.

He didn’t know what to believe anymore.

And that was exactly what I needed.

I wasn’t out of danger yet, but at least now, his suspicion wasn’t solely on me.
