“Well,”

I began, but paused because I didn't know what to say. 

Was I going to tell the whole story from the very beginning? And where even was the beginning? Was it from the point where my parents were murdered or the moment I was taken to Kaltain?

There was no way I would begin a story like that. Honestly, I didn't even want to talk about it 'from the beginning'. The beginning was something I wish never happened. Something that haunts my dreams in the middle of the night. Something I wish I could forget.  

“I was trying to practice a teleportation spell but I think I didn't do it right.” I chose to say instead.
