Chapter 151

Maxine’s POV

As we were speaking, there were a couple of knocks on the door. The door automatically opened, hearing the beat of the knock. It was one thing I found out. The house was like it was living.

Luna walked into the house, holding up bags and bags. The kids screamed, "Luna!!!!" They surrounded her, jumping around and grabbing her hand.

"Easy, easy," she told them. "Where's my birthday girl?"

Magpie ran up to her and hugged her. "Auntie Luna," she said with a smile.

"I got you gifts," she said as she got down on her knees and began to rummage through the bags for the gifts specifically for Magpie.

Surprisingly, she got gifts for everyone, including me. Mine was a leather-bound wristwatch. It looked feminine and timeless. While Oz, Raine, and Cinder rounded off the kids to sleep, Zel and I spoke to Luna.

"How's it coming along?" Luna asked regarding the training.

"Good. I feel like I'm getting closer," I replied
