Chapter 150

Maxine’s POV

"Good," Cinder said, "Hold it up. When I'm back, I'll pick them off one by one. They'll tell the story of how this mountain area is cursed for generations to come."

Cinder turned and walked away. I could tell that she was pissed. I didn't know if I was supposed to blame myself for that.

I followed her into a room that I had never been before. She swept the mess on the only desk in the room away with her hands and told me to give her the blade.

She unsheathed it and stabbed it into the desk. Saying a few words, black lines began to form from the blade to the table, before surrounding the blade in a patterned circle.

"Bloody knife…" she cursed. Slapping her palms together, the lines glowed. I felt the energy myself. A few moments later, she fired the dagger with some energy source and then sighed.

"No one will be able to sense it ever again. Unless they break my spell, that is." Cinder said. She didn't stop there.
