Maxine's POV

I pretended not to hear him, staying rooted to my spot. My heart sprinted, but I was determined not to show any fear.

"Did you hear me?" he barked, his tone rising with anger.

"I’m not ready," I said, my voice steady despite the storm of emotions inside me.

Liam's eyes darkened, and he crossed the room in a few swift strides. He grabbed me roughly by the arm, his grip bruising. "You dare defy me?" he hissed, his face inches from mine.

Before I could respond, he tore my clothes from my body, leaving me exposed and vulnerable. His hands were rough, his actions fueled by anger. He threw me onto the bed and had his way with me, each movement filled with a brutality that left me gasping in pain.
