Maxine's POV

I slipped out of my room, moving stealthily through the dark corridors. My heart pounded in my chest, each step feeling like a leap into the unknown. Wishing that I don't get exposed. Finally, I reached Tobias's quarters and knocked softly. The door creaked open, showing a surprised Tobias.

"Maxine? What are you doing here at this hour?" he whispered, glancing around nervously.

"I had to talk to you, something important came up." I said urgently, stepping inside. "Liam is watching me. He's suspicious, asking questions and I can't risk him finding out about our training sessions."

Tobias's face immediately hardened with concern. "What did he say? Did he call my name?"

I quickly narrated Liam's threats and my fears. "We need to pause the training, at least for now. It's too dangerous. Liam can’t find out about us, training together."

Tobias frowned, clearly unhappy with my decision. "But Maxine, you're making progress.
