Chapter 114

I made my way over to Daring’s loft, stopping right in front of his door. I felt nervous as I stood there and ended up staring at the door for several moments before mustering the courage to knock.

“I’m coming.” I heard Renard’s voice from the other side. He opened the door a moment later. “Oh, Villi. Do you need something?” The fox asked me.

“Um, yes. I wanted to see Daring.” I told him. He looked at me with a worried expression.

“Oh. Okay. He’s in his room.” Renard let me into the loft, guiding me to the living room area. “Wait here while I check if he’s decent.” He said in a forced joking manner.

“Alright.” I nodded my head. I could tell something was off. Daring was not with the others early, but I had just chalked it up to him being busy with the task I had given him and Renard.

Now, though, as I waited for him to come see me, I felt nothing but worry. I shook my head as I sat down on the sofa in the living room. I noticed several books lying on th
