Chapter 57
I dressed up with a certain anger that night. I wore my shorter clothes, even if it was cold. I put on the highest heels, although I was not going to a place that was wise to wear high shoes - the Pub was a small establishment that was located on top of a courtyard with numerous shops, being a narrow and pebble path to the short-step staircase. And I perfected my best makeup, abusing a very red lipstick and eyeliner. I was ready to seduce, when in fact I just wanted to know about the man who had stepped on my heart.
I received very strong compliments from my co-workers, both men and women, but I still didn't feel beautiful enough. I had the impression that the looks that the waiters threw at me were more of a reprimand for the exaggerated clothes, than for the exposed beauty. There was a moment in those first drinks taken when the cold was so much that I couldn't help but cling, and Daniel standing next to me, quickly pulled his own coat out of his arms.
