When the awareness of what the policeman was saying finally made me understand that Edward could have died that night, after the fight we had, I was in shock.
Daniel drove to my house, because we had reached Edward's address after my drunken conscience gave his address as mine. I kept myself all the way trying to stay awake, trying not to let the alcohol unwind my attention, but it was being impossible. I was still seeing blurry, and I still had difficulty understanding everything, so Daniel got out of the car and carried me on his lap into the house. My parents, for the first time in those days, reacted with concern. They clearly feared losing the life of another child, but they relaxed a little when they noticed that I was awake, just drunk and desperate to go to the hospital.
