He denied asking her out, but she believed it was him. Everything would have been all right if they had not been made to share a room during their trip. Everything would have been all right if he had not stared at her and walked into the bathroom while she was in it. Everything would have been all right if she had never gone for the interview at Dreams that day. Was everything meant to be this way? Perhaps. Did she regret it? Sometimes. What was she going to do? Erin’s head ached painfully. She forced herself out of the bed and walked to the drawer. She brought out a pack of aspirin and brought out two pills, which she threw into her mouth. She drank from the glass of water she always put on her bedside table. She rubbed her forehead gently before going back to bed.
