Chapter 24
“Have you never been in a relationship?” Chris asked incredulously. The conversation had somehow shifted from their occupations and families to their private lives. Erin sipped her drink to hide the shy smile on her face. She looked over at Chris and rolled her eyes when she caught him staring at her.
“Never.”
“Have you ever been touched by anybody?” He asked again. He was almost drunk now, and she was slightly worried about him. His words came out in a slur, and his eyes were darker than normal. She chewed the inside of her cheek in silent contemplation. What was she to say to that? The truth? Well, she had nothing to lose.
“I have been.”
“Why did you not go into a relationship with this person then?” She squeezed the glass tightly and swallowed. She would have snapped at Chris some minutes back if he was not already drunk.
