“Good morning, Erin. You look… different,” Jess said as Erin walked into the office that morning. Erin wore a bright smile on her face as she made her way into the office.

“Good morning to you too,” she said, ignoring Jess’s other comment. She walked into her office and arranged the files on her table before settling down to begin the day’s work. She took a peek into Uriah’s office and felt a gentle jab of pain in her chest at the sight of a woman in his office.

Since the incident with Jas, Uriah had neither called, nor returned her call. She dismissed any ill thoughts with the conviction that he was probably busy over the weekend.
