What the actual f*** is going on here...?
"Static electricity." I found myself laughing awkwardly, despite the fact that it was not even remotely how that spark made me feel.
"I've had very little sleep. It's time for me to call it a night. I hardly raised my voice above a whisper as I tried to maintain my character while my thoughts raced about what action to take next.
Cedric said, "Good night, Lucy," emphasizing the Italian-like quality of his accent more than usual.
I managed a feeble smile to give him.
I yelled after him, "Good night, Cedric," and dashed towards the stairs.
I came to a stop and circled back around to face Cedric.
He gave the impression of being very deep in contemplation.
"Hey, Cedric?" I yelled it out very clearly.
His fiery eyes glared angrily at me.
"Thank you for helping me." I gave a timid smile and quickly rushed upstairs.
