Chapter 62

As I saw him again, my heart began to race and my palms started to sweat. We hadn't seen each other in a long time, and the memories and emotions that came flooding back were overwhelming. 

Despite my best efforts to hold it together, I felt a lump form in my throat and tears welled up in my eyes. I tried to blink them away, but they just kept coming, hot and unstoppable. He looked at me with concern and confusion, clearly taken aback by my emotional response.

 "Hey, are you okay?" he asked, reaching out to touch my arm. 

I took a deep breath and tried to steady myself. "I'm sorry," I said, wiping away tears with the back of my hand. "It's just been a lot to process, seeing you again after all this time. I thought you are in Canada at this moment, baby. Why are you here?" 

He nodded, his expression softening with understanding. "I know it's been hard," he said. "But I'm here for you now,” he said.
