One day before Patrick’s schedule to return home, Catherine dared to speak her mind and ask for financial support for her studies. She knew it was a big mistake when Patrick’s expression changed.

“It was your plan all along,” he accused her. “Did you use your body to boss me around?” he added.

Catherine was embarrassed and looked around if someone has heard him speak. “You know it’s not true. I was just hoping that you can help me with my studies,” she explained.

“I’m sorry but I cannot promise you that, Kate.” What she asked from him was a big responsibility and he wasn’t sure if he could keep it.

Catherine smiled even if the world crumbled into her feet. After all her efforts, it was still in vain. “I understand and I shouldn’t ask for too much.” She said and finished the hot chocolate that was in her cup.
