Catherine went home with a crisp one hundred US dollars in her wallet. They had no curfew in the boarding as some renters were on the graveyard shift, so she was not worried at all when it was almost 11 o’clock and she was not home yet.
At night, the street of Colon was the busiest in the City and she was glad that her boarding house was just close to Colon because she didn’t have to worry about criminals lurking in the corner.
She was already near her boarding house when a white van stopped in front of her. Catherine panicked at the thought that they were going to kidnap her. She looked around, and she felt relieved when the drinking bars were open and had many guests.
