Chapter 36. A Nightmare

I couldn’t believe she woke me up to prepare a plate of Mac and cheese, and she was already asleep! I scrunched my nose as I glared at the food, and I almost felt like waking her up and ensuring she ate every bit.

But the way she slept so peacefully made me change my mind. I wasn’t that brutal. Besides, it was the baby who made her have strange cravings, especially at midnight.

I packaged the Mac and cheese in a plastic pack and placed it in the fridge. She can always microwave it when she wakes up later. I lifted her and walked slowly to her room. She was a lightweight even though she was pregnant. I tried as much as possible not to stare at her face, and when I finally placed her on her bed, I let out a deep breath, which I didn’t know I was holding.
