Chapter 70. Out of My House
Author’s POV
The pack communal gathering was a place where you could meet anyone and dig up facts if you were smart enough to know what was true and what was a waste. That was exactly what Ophelia thought as she joined a group of women giggling about a handsome guard who worked for Xavier.
Ten minutes with them and she was already bored. If she had been told that some women still valued handsomeness over class, she would have laughed at them, but here she was in the midst of women who represented that mindset. Several times, she was scorned for her views, so she kept shut and laughed when someone said something boring.
Luckily for her, their fun ended as one of them complained of a stomachache, and they left without asking her to join them. She was glad. Bad riddance. She searched the crowd, hoping to see an inviting group, she could ask questions but found none. Everyone seemed busy with their partners and groups to focus on the odd female in the room.
