Xavier rose as I approached the table, flashing a scolding look at Jay who had lowered his gaze immediately he noticed I was in the room.

“Aurora…” Xavier called as I moved towards Jay. “I didn’t know you were in town. I could have sent my men to pick you up.”

“Good evening,” I greeted, ignoring him. “I’m sorry for disturbing your family dinner but my son and I need to leave. Jay?”

Jay held my hand as I turned. “Bye, Dad.”

“Hold on, let’s talk, please.” Xavier called after me.

“There’s nothing to talk about. Jay needs to go home right now and not stay here with you and your wife.”

“Wife? It’s not what you think.” He replied, glancing at the other woman in the room who seemed to be enjoying herself.

“Great, I need to leave. It was nice to meet you once again, Xavier.”

He rushed after me as I walked out of the door. “Let’s talk about this. At least, give me a chance to explain myself.”

I laughed, glancing at Jay
