The next day, Dominic announced to his children that they were all going on vacation. His words had been met with protest from Elio who claimed to have an important laboratory test. He queried his dad about where they were going, and the man repeated that they were going on a vacation. The other boys had seemed excited about the trip and they had gone along without protests. He hadn't really opened up to them about where they were headed because of Elio. He felt like his youngest son could back out if he had even the slightest idea where they were headed to. He hadn't even known where they were really headed and he was already resistant.
