Addy’s POV
Jared slammed the door behind us like he was sealing off a crime scene, but honestly? My palms weren’t sweaty. Wolf-Damien had already volunteered to snarf down anyone dumb enough to mess with me, so unless this impact driver started roaring man-eating jaws, I was golden.
“Here.” Jared tossed me the tool—an impact driver, aka the mechanical beast of furniture assembly. I caught it mid-air with cartoonish surprise. The steel weight dwarfed its compact frame. “Holy crap. This thing’s heavier than my freshman roommate’s existential crises.”
Jared’s lips quirked. “Thanks to me, you won’t need therapy. Just screwdrivers and heavy-duty bits.”
I shrugged and followed him to the half-assembled bed frame. The gray wooden headboard would cloak half my wall, then loop under and around the mattress like some epic furniture hug. It looked sleek, and the mattress? It would be a beast compared to my college twin. I’d spent three of my four years in college
