Addy’s POV
My hand was completely back to normal by the time Damien swung the car into the garage, which was equal parts awesome and terrifying. One minute it feels like raw steak, the next it’s as good as new—definitely a werewolf perk, according to Damien, but I still spent half the ride googling “spoiler: am I immortal now?” We also somehow managed to inhale an entire fast-food joint’s worth of burgers, fries, and milkshakes because apparently wolf-healing comes with ravenous snacking. I’m not saying I’m proud, but my stomach did a happy dance.
We wrestled our way up the stairs, tipping into each other’s space with flirtatious clumsiness—our hands smacking together so many times it was basically a romantic game of Whac-A-Mole. I was ready to grab a clean shirt and some pants, but destiny (and a very loud knock) had other plans.
