Chapter 86
Summer’s POV
I didn’t mean to wake up. Really, I didn’t. But there I was, blinking into bright light and realizing two crucial things: one, I was staring at a very handsome guy asleep on the floor, and two, my head would not move. Literally. My neck was on permanent lockdown.
“Shit,” I mentally crowed as I attempted to swivel my skull. Nothing. No dice. No “welcome back, Summer” from the vertebrae. Logic—which admittedly has never been my best friend—told me this meant I was fully wolvesliding into actual wolf form. Fantastic.
I’d hung up on Addy every single time she tried to explain how this shapeshifting nightmare worked—yet another personal highlight on my list of “How to Be a Total Jerk, Volume I.” I was sleep-deprived, freaked out about the sudden wolf-thing, and pretty sure I was headed for early-onset Alzheimer’s. So yeah, I didn’t have a clue what was going on, but apparently I’d lost the remote control to my own body.
