Chapter 87
Summer’s POV
I burst through the front door like it was a finish line, lunging forward in a dramatic flail. “I’m here!” I crowed, chest heaving like I’d just sprinted a mile. “Shit, shit, ow!” I screeched, hitching a breath as Addy’s world-tipping stumble nearly cartwheeled me into the hallway.
“Dammit, Addy,” Damien growled, dropping his phone as he lunged under her arms, arms strong as steel girders, and kept her from kissing the floor with her backside. “You’re having a damned baby! Hospital, now—this is not a drill.”
Addy took a shuddering breath, her face scrunching up like she’d just tried to eat a lemon rind for fun. “It’s just—” She sucked in air so sharply I half expected her head to spin. “Braxton Hicks. I told you.”
“Like hell it is,” Damien snarled, his jaw ticking.
