After battling through traffic for close to an hour, we arrived at our location safely and successfully, and the car came to a stop at Green-Wood Cemetery.

I got out of the car, and so did Julio, who was trailing closely behind me. When I started walking toward the people who were selling bouquets of flowers, Julio made a halt and stared at me.

But the driver also purchased flowers, which he carried with him as he walked alongside Julio. When I saw this, a smirk formed in the corner of my mouth.

‘‘Just wait right here...’’ I overheard Julio say that, and he snatched the bouquet that was being held by the driver.

We made our way cautiously toward the tombstone that bore the inscription of my mother's name.

‘‘Hi mom… how are you?’’ I knelt down and placed the flowers in front of the tombstone while lightly brushing her name with my fingers. ‘‘I miss you, mom…’’
