Chapter 192. Tragic Past
‘‘Let's talk on the balcony…’’ I suggested, and I slowly led the way, my steps were a little wobbly.
‘‘Do you need me to help you?’’ Brylee offered, smiling devilishly as she extended my hand in front of me.
‘‘I'm not disabled…’’ I managed a small smile as I looked at her, ignoring her hand. ‘‘I can still walk by myself...’’
Brylee shrugged her shoulders after retreating her hand, and then walked away from me towards the balcony.
She chose to sit in my favorite spot on the sofa, and I took the chair that was directly across from her. As I sat down, I was aware of the light breeze that was blowing. Summer had officially begun, and the daytime temperatures were noticeably higher than normal.
‘‘Don’t you feel afraid?’’ Suddenly, Brylee inquired as she relaxed further into her seat and leaned back.
