“Now, you’re the seeker, Leese!” Riza laughed as she scampered off to hide.

Later that afternoon, following Riza’s return from school, we engaged in a game of hide and seek. It was my turn to count, and I pressed my forehead against the living room wall, counting from one to ten, while Riza sought a hiding spot. A subtle smile crept onto my lips.
