“He orchestrated the whole thing, misdirecting you, and making sure she stayed locked up. Imagine it son, while you were losing your mind, he paid a visit to her every other day right under your nose, yet you trusted the enemy.” He continues taunting me now.
I grind my teeth.
“At least he gets it. He gets just how much duty comes before wants. Don’t hate the poor boy, he was just looking out for you after all, and diligently following orders.”
“Where is she?” I ask.
I can’t stand to hear any more of his lecturing or anymore truth about Lucas, my patience running thin.
“Oh, don’t worry, she’s safe and sound in one of my detention centers—the lowest level where we keep our most deranged criminals. Do you want to know why she’s there?” He asks, leaning in closer to me.
