Chapter 20
Summer POV
I landed on the concrete floor with a thud. My head bounced off the ground and met Blake’s blue-eyed gaze. Conner closed the door behind him. That bastard, I shouldn’t have thought I could trust him. He brought me face to face with the monster in my nightmares. The man who brought down the ultimate betrayal.
No more running, Summer.
“Summer, I’ve thought about you for months,” Blake began.
“So have I. I can’t say they were good thoughts.”
Liquid rolled down the side of my head. I touched the liquid. It was blood.
“Look at that, you can’t heal yourself anymore. How tragic,” Blake smiled.
“Because of you!” I yelled.
“Shut up,” he scowled.
I flinched, anticipating an open palm slap.
He chuckled at my action. Never show a wolf fear, I thought. I had to be smart here. Yet, I wasn't very confident.
