Summer POV
I can’t believe he ran off. Or did he go looking for me? I didn’t want him to get hurt, even though I was hurting, because he had a fated mate. This felt riskier than being a fugitive in his pack. This was so uncertain, and it made my heart ache.
“Doll Face, there you are,” Hunter breathed a sigh of relief.
Hunter walked towards me from the living room. Dad was outside talking to the beta guards.
“How did he get away?” I asked.
“Have you seen him? He can take out an army if he wants to. If he wanted to get away, then he was going to get away.”
Judging by the marks on his neck, Ezra wasn’t messing around.
“I don’t know what to do. I can’t even track him.” I didn’t have my heightened hearing or a strong sense of smell. I didn’t have the strength to run through trees or connect with nature anymore.
