Chapter 6. Are You That Brave?

The gunfight was fierce and dangerous, and people kept falling like flies. Emerald felt weirdly calm while other women were crying and screaming.

She couldn’t change anything. If Kenzo won, she’d live and end up being nothing but a product; if they lost, she’d die. She had nothing to lose, nothing to worry about, so it didn’t really matter to her.

She stopped watching the gunfight and started looking at the tree vines that gracefully covered the outside of the big French window and the two moons above the trees.

Wade led several men to the back and squatted beside Kenzo as he said. “Thanks.”

“No need for that.” Kenzo sounded cold. “It’s my fault that you are being attacked in Hope City.”

“Careful!” Emerald, who usually was quiet, suddenly shouted out loud, to everyone’s surprise.

Wade felt her soft body suddenly bump into his back with a weak groaning. He turned around and saw Emerald falling from his shoulder.
