Ariana’s POV

Soon everyone dived right into the food. I focused on eating my meal and didn’t meet anyone’s gaze as I ate.

“So, how was work today, kids?” Brian asked us as we ate.

“Work was good, Father,” Damien replied. I looked up just in time to see Brian looking at me and waiting for my response.

“It was eventful,” I said, and I could feel Damien meet my gaze. I held his gaze. He gave me his signature smirk as he looked back down at his food. I saw Britney looking at me with so much hate, but I didn’t return her gaze as I continued eating.

“So, dear, tell me about yourself,” my mother decided to ask Britney.

“Oh, I am so sorry for not making introductions. I am Britney, Damien’s girl and the future rightful heiress to my parents’ company,” Britney
