Four weeks went by, and everything had been peaceful and good. I stayed out of Damien’s way, and he stayed out of mine. We only saw each other at the office and spoke when it related to business.

At home, it was compulsory to attend dinner with the family, but Damien was often too busy to attend and would travel with Leo for weeks, leaving me in charge of office activities.

I picked up the job quite well, and I was currently excited because I had just received my first paycheck, a huge amount of money I had never seen before.
