Four weeks had passed since the Black wedding, and Brian was enjoying his new wife. He knew she wasn’t perfect, and he didn’t expect her to be. When Damien told him he had looked into her past, he was enraged. He didn’t believe in judging a book by its cover; instead, he preferred to let the past go and focus on building a good future.

He also admired her daughter, Ariana. She was a strong and good woman, and he knew she was drawn to his son, Damien.
