Chapter 131
“He won’t respond because he can’t. He has nothing to say to you. His mother confirmed everything.” She manages to loosen the raw grip of my fingers and pries my cell away, thinking she is doing this for my own good. It’s my lifeline to him, the only thing I can cling onto, and I try and battle her for it to get it back.
Shaking my head in denial, hating her with a passion as the wall of tears breaks and I crumble down onto my knees, sobbing through the pain that feels like it might consume me. A futile fight to get my phone as she isn’t willing to keep watching me torture myself.
