Chapter 48
Tyler is hanging by the now-closed front door and keeps glancing Elisa’s way at how she seems to be hiding from him. He must have spotted her when they came in and now is aware she’s slinking back into the hallway out of sight. He’s too fixated on her to care about what’s happening here, and I eye roll at the lack of help.
“We got drunk and had a violent boxing match with other skiers…. Nothing but a lot of surface mess. It helped me hone my skills and showed me that I can take down a couple of guys alone and walk away from it.” Dane smirks at me, gauging my reaction to their weak excuse, and I narrow my eyes at him. Reading the message for Jordan between the lines to back off while challenging me to dispute what he’s saying. Dane isn’t any calmer than last night, and I let out a deep breath, knowing this will get worse before it gets better. I should make Jordan leave.
