Chapter 81
“You know….it doesn’t feel like today is the day we made this official.” Dane points out, and I stop and think about it for a second. It really was only today at school that this started. It seems like since then, we’ve gone days when the reality is we hung out before dinner and came here after. It feels like the sun will never set on this day, and we’re caught in a timeless loop. Not that I’m complaining.
“I know… Only hours….”
“Back to reality tomorrow and having to go back to being school enemies…how on earth will you cope without my loving presence all day? You might have withdrawal.” He nudges me with his shoulder, then leans in and squeezes his cheek against mine.
“I’ll live…it’s only been seventeen years of doing so.” I point out, wondering where this boy gets his ego from. I may love him, but I know he is sometimes a complete jerk.
