Chapter 71. I Could Feel You

Calista’s POV

I can feel my body is sore from last night. I spent the night with Zane, and it was entirely real—I wasn’t drunk. I chose to be with him because I was overwhelmed and grateful for everything he has done for me.

I’ve never witnessed anyone behave so thoughtfully. Right now, I’m still lying beside him in bed, both of us naked. He looks so handsome as he sleeps, and I don’t want to disturb him.

I just want to gaze at him without him noticing. It feels so peaceful, and though it once seemed almost forbidden to look at him this way, I’m relishing it now.

I quietly get up and start dressing, putting on my underwear and bra. I was reaching for my other clothes when Zane suddenly wraps his large arms around my waist, causing me to yelp. I’m now completely enveloped by him on the bed.

With his eyes still closed, he pulls me closer and murmurs, “Where are you going?”

“It seems like you have a sixth sense,” I say.
