Epilogue
“Mommy, Daddy! Let’s open the gifts now,” our eldest daughter Luise Nadine exclaimed. You can call her Luna for short. She’s six years old. She had just entered the kitchen where I was busy cooking, while her talented father was once again playfully flirting with me. As soon as our daughter came in, she released her hug from behind and planted a kiss on my neck.
“No! Daddy, Mommy, let’s cut the cake now!” chimed in our youngest, Eos, who had just entered at the age of five. I momentarily left the carbonara I was cooking to face the two of them, who were now looking up at me and Xandros, waiting for our response.
“Later, my babies. We need to wait for your grandparents. They’ll bring more gifts and more cake,” I explained to both of them.
As soon as I mentioned their grandparents, they both smiled and their excitement was evident.
“Your Mom is right. Your Uncle Daddy Mateo will also be coming, so let’s just wait, okay?” Xandros added.
