Nora POV

I woke up to my phone exploding.

Not literally, though the endless buzzing and ringing made it sound like a bomb going off next to my head. Bleary-eyed, I reached for it, expecting maybe a few missed calls from my publicist about damage control from last night’s gala.

Instead, I found ninety-seven missed calls, four hundred and thirty-eight text messages, and a voicemail box so full it had stopped accepting new messages.

My stomach dropped.

The first headline I saw made my blood turn to ice:
