Chapter 62. Excuses

As it was already morning, I yawned, as I could barely sleep last night. I contacted Nate through the mind link because we must switch places again. ‘Nate, are you awake yet?’

‘Yeah. Lisa is still asleep. I will check on her first. If she sleeps well, you can come here so I can leave.’

‘Sure,’ I said and waited for a while. 

Then I heard Nate’s voice again in my mind. ‘It’s good. Let’s switch places.’

I walked without sound to somewhere near my room. I looked around my surroundings. No one was there. It was still three a.m. So naturally, everyone was still asleep. I let out a small sigh, waiting for Nate to leave my room. Then he walked out the door. His face was gloomy. There were black shadows below his eyes.
